Pat Kearns - "I had been in garage-punk bands my entire life up to this record. This was a real departure from what I had been doing, but it wasn't at the same time. It was a lot like the 4 track recordings I had been doing for years in my bedroom. I recorded most of this record before and after other people's recording sessions. Whoever might be around, ended up playing on it."

Kelly Simmons - "I wasn't involved at all. I remember first hearing about the Blue Skies when the title track was played on KPSU, the college station. I called up and talked to the DJ in order to find out who it was."

Mike Lewis - I originally met Patrick through our mutual friend, John Vanderslice. Patrick answered my ad looking for a guitar player for my band, The Very Foundation, and convinced me to audition for lead guitar for the group he was putting together. I remember specifically deciding not to learn any of the parts on the record, but rather play whatever felt good.
