Pat Kearns - "It's probably our best record. But it also was the hardest to make. We threw away more songs before getting in the studio than ever before. At least a half dozen. And then we threw away a couple of the first finished songs because they had been recorded in digital and they didn't sound nearly as right as the two we had done on tape. And then we had problems with the tape. It went on and on. But the songs kept getting better. It's an interesting take on a certain place and a special time but from several points of view. Often, it wasn't my own. It was from someone that I was watching."

Kelly Simmons - "I'm starting to think this is our Damn the Torpedoes or Darkness on the Edge of Town. It has awesome songs on it. It's been a long one to make but it's our most solid record from start to finish. It has the most potential singles and is definitely a step further in regards to us realizing ourselves."

Mike Lewis - "This record really challenged my playing ability. Going into it, I didn't think I could even do it. Coming out of it, I think I'm twice the guitar player I was when we started."

Paul Noel - "Embracing was a completely different process than Serenades. It was much more piecemeal and took a much longer time getting it together. I lost track multiple times on where things were at in the process, but I feel it came to be our best record yet."
